Dr. Jones has been researching his family's history on both his mother and father's side since 2006. He has amassed 1,627 people and 3,971 records in his family tree on Ancestry.com.
He is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and is working on his first book detailing his journey learning about his ancestors, US History, and his own identity.

Doing genealogical work is time-consuming and can have many unexpected twists, turns, and dead-ends. Many hours can be put in with no result or revealing an life-altering revelation. I can commit to teaching you the basics and getting you started but I cannot be held responsible for the research conclusions or personal turmoil that may be unearthed.
Consultation
With a consultation, I can meet for a free 30 minute consultation to evaluate interests or needs. From there if the project is viable, we can have a more in-depth conversation and identify what the end goal deliverable will be (a tree up to a certain generation, more information about a particular relative(s), gathering of records, interpretation of genetic results, and/or a written family history based on current information and further research.
Introduction to Genealogy
Dr. Jones can do a presentation that provides an overview and some typical examples of what genealogical research consists of, standards of research, common terms, common records and tools used, and purposes folks might be pursuing the work for. Available to conduct presentation virtually and in-person for events, groups, or individuals to build and grow understanding about the foundations of each of us, our family.
Root Work - Building Your Tree
Dr. Jones loves getting into the weeds and helping someone discover their family tree. The base that is needed to start is the birthdate and location of parents (or one parent) and some similar information about grandparents. Even if the information is inaccurate, a starting point is all we need. Jones knows how to start a tree or check accuracy and continue to build up an existing tree.

With respect to pricing, I'm willing to work with individuals, families, and organizations based on their budget and what they would like to accomplish. I am also willing to work on retainer for long-term support.
